Overview

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors (MD) or doctors of osteopathic medicine (DO) and may be board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmalogy or American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology.
