About UnaSource Surgery Center
Located on the first floor of the 4550 building on the UnaSource Health campus in Troy, Michigan, UnaSource Surgery Center (USC) provides multi-specialty outpatient surgery to children, adults, and seniors.
UnaSource Surgery Center was formed in 2002 and began doing procedures in March 2004. Today, we treat around 7,000 patients each year.
Designed for patient comfort and surgical efficiency, UnaSource Surgery Center has five operating rooms and 18 private patient care suites.
Our medical staff includes more than 50 surgeons, all of whom are either Board-Certified or Board-Eligible. USC surgeons represent seven different medical specialties: Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat), Ophthalmology, Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery, Podiatry, and Urology.
Each clinical member of our team maintains Basic Lifesaving Skills (BLS) certification, and each patient care nurse and nurse anesthetist on our team maintains certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as well. Nurses caring for children also hold certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Additionally, all staff regularly receive training on new technology and treatments, emergency preparedness, infection control, privacy, and safety.
Our reputation for excellence is reflected in the associations and certifications we hold and awards we’ve received. UnaSource Surgery Center is not only accredited by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) but also certified in total joint and complex spine surgery by them – a distinction currently held by only us and one other ASC in Michigan as of May 2026. Additionally, in the time USC has been open, we have received more than a dozen APEX awards for excellence in patient satisfaction, been named as an “America’s Best ASC” by Newsweek, a “Best Ambulatory Surgery Center” for Orthopedics and Spine by U.S. News & World Report, one of the 100 Best Workplaces to Work in Healthcare by Beckers, and a Top Workplace by The Detroit Free Press.
