UnaSource Surgery Center has been recognized as an outstanding outpatient surgery center yet again.
In every key performance indicator included in a recent survey of 2020 data, UnaSource has earned ratings of 97% or higher across the board with an overall score of 97.8%, which reinforces its standing as the leading ambulatory surgery center in Oakland County. The average SPH Analytics score is 94.3%.
Additionally, 96.2% of UnaSource surveys had zero negative responses, compared to 84% nationally, and 92.8% of UnaSource Surgery Center surveys received perfect scores.
The results of the survey are a testament to UnaSource’s commitment to its patients and the surgeons who work with the center. UnaSource makes every effort to provide better quality, service, and results, all while offering personalized, attentive care to ensure patients feel comfortable and secure.
UnaSource’s motto is to go above and beyond in everything they do — because patients deserve nothing but the best.
SPH Analytics, an independent performance analysis firm, compiled the annual report using the data from surveys submitted by patients from January to December 2020. All patients are given a survey at discharge, and the data is used to analyze UnaSource’s internal practices, services, doctors, and staff. The results showed above average scores in every area, including patient care, surgical expertise, and recovery results.
The survey focused on 22 factors within four primary categories: facility, people, personal, and process. UnaSource ranked higher than the SPH national average in all categories. In fact, 57% of UnaSource Surgery Center scores ranked 1st place nationally, and 71% were a top 3 rank.
Key quality scores included:
- Confidence in care received: 97.9%
- Overall experience: 97.6%
- Quality of care received: 98%
- Recommended facility: 98%
- Treated with dignity and respect by staff: 98.4%
Additional factors scored included staff concern for safety, instructions for home pain management, anesthesia staff courtesy, nursing staff excellence, and the registration experience, plus several others.
In addition to the overall assessment of the facility, the survey results included an analysis of individual scores by surgeon. Though the overwhelming majority of percentages were in the 90s for every physician across the board, here are a few whose scores in the five factors pertaining to surgeon performance (surgeon explanation before surgery; surgeon explanation after surgery; surgeon kindness; confidence in care received; and quality of care received) really stood out.
